The
Junior Group
Starting at the beginning, we create an atmosphere that is
warm and welcoming. We give children the opportunity to work
creatively alone and in groups. They learn how to discuss their
ideas with others whilst feeling safe to explore emotions &
characters. They improvise parts and work on small scripted pieces.
They also work on musical movement once a month which helps with
coordination and their gross motor skills. We also work on a small
show once a year. The children have the chance to dress up in
costumes, use face paints & learn simple dance moves.
The
Senior Group
Children from the Junior group move up to the Senior group
when they are eleven. There they will learn about different drama
techniques, such as dramatic tension and irony, symbolism, voice
gesture, and positioning. The pupils are able to create scenes
through improvisation & scripted work. We also aim to do one major
production a year. (See our
Productions page). The drama group
provides a supportive environment where children are free to display
ideas & can be removed in time and place to anywhere they want to be
and whom they want to be!
